Andorra welcomes the 2017 FIM World Champions

Over the past few days the town of Andorra-la-Vella has welcomed the influx of the 2017 FIM World Champions ready for today’s programme of events. The 35 champions and their chosen guests have arrived at the 5* Andorra Park Hotel - the venue that will host this evenings FIM Awards Ceremony.

Ahead of the ceremony itself, the 2017 FIM World Champions will delight many fans with a very special autograph session in the Congress Centre at 15.00hrs(CET), before returning to the hotel to prepare for the black-tie event which will be streamed live on www.fim-awards.com at 22.00hrs(CET).

A few of the two-wheel stars who have descended upon the town, already high in Christmas spirit, were happy to share what being here at the FIM Awards means to them.

Speaking with AMA Supercross FIM World Champion Ryan Dungey who had just endured a long journey from Minnesota to Amsterdam then onwards to Barcelona before a road trip up to Andorra-La-Vella. “It’s a real honour to be here and if you are here you are obviously doing something right. It’s my third year in a row to be invited. It’s great to come to Europe and celebrate the awards of all disciplines and get to experience a new country, Andorra is a very special place.”

Dennis Foggia, FIM Moto3 Junior World Champion is here in Andorra to celebrate his first World title. Foggia had a positive tale to tell upon his arrival, “I am extremely happy with my results this year especially because it is my first World title. I would like to thank all my team and the next year, I will move up to a new class which I am very excited about.”

Catching up with the four times FIM Women Trial World champion, Emma Bristow, who will always have a special place in her heart for Andorra as it is where she obtained her first FIM World title back here in 2014. “It is great to be back here, and for a fourth time at the awards. It is a good opportunity to reflect on a great year after a lot of hard work, with all the effort from the team being much appreciated. I am looking forward to dressing up in my dress as it makes a change from my Trial suit!”
