Prosecco DOC adds sparkles to the FIM Awards

Prosecco DOC, the sparkle of MotoGP™ and WorldSBK, is confirmed as Official Provider for the FIM Awards 2020-2021. Joining the event after its participation to the 2016 Berlin edition, Prosecco DOC will be under the spotlight in the FIM Awards, having designed a very special and exclusive label to celebrate this occasion.

The guests will have the chance to taste its delicious bubbles during the FIM General Assembly cocktail, during the media event at the Cars Collection of HSH the Prince of Monaco and, finally, during the FIM Awards ceremony and closing party, that will take place at the world-famous Jimmy’z nightclub.

The bubbles of the Prosecco DOC Consortium play a main role in every post-race celebration on the podiums and in the paddocks: it has been Official Supplier of WorldSBK since 2013 and of MotoGPTM since 2019 and for the upcoming three years.

Stefano Zanette - President of Prosecco DOC Consortium, commented: “Prosecco DOC is the perfect wine to celebrate every sport emotion. After years in successful partnerships with WorldSBK and MotoGPTM, we are glad to join once again the FIM Awards and honour together the motorcycling world. We are pleased to toast also in this prestigious occasion all the champions of this sport with this special edition label of Prosecco DOC.”

Fabio Muner - FIM Marketing & Digital Director, remarked: “There is no doubt that the FIM Awards are always a sparkling occasion, but having Prosecco DOC back in the fold will certainly add an important ingredient to the event. Through their long association with the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship and their more recent relationship with MotoGPTM, their commitment to the motorcycle sport and the wider two-wheel community is clear to see. I am sure that the entire FIM family will very much enjoy raising a glass of Prosecco DOC to celebrate the many achievements that will be applauded during this year’s event in Monaco.”

About The Prosecco DOC Consortium:

Prosecco was granted the Controlled Designation of Origin status on July 17th, 2009, and the Prosecco DOC Consortium (Consorzio di Tutela della Denominazione di Origine Controllata Prosecco) was created on November 19th of the same year to coordinate and manage the Prosecco DOC. The organization unites the different groups of manufacturers—wineries, individual and associated vine-growers, still wine and sparkling wine producers—to ensure the designation continues to grow and that the production regulations are complied with.

About Prosecco DOC:

Prosecco wines come in Spumante (sparkling), Frizzante (semi-sparkling) and Tranquillo (still) varieties. The wines are made from mainly the Glera grape, native to North East Italy for thousands of years, and can be combined with a maximum of 15% of the following grapes: Verdiso, Bianchetta Trevigiana, Perera, Glera lunga, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Nero. Prosecco Frizzante and Spumante varieties get their famous bubbles using the Secondary Fermentation production method, bottled under high pressure after fermentation in bulk tanks called autoclaves, as opposed to the traditional method, which bypasses the autoclaves and is used for other sparkling wine varieties. The end result is a brilliant straw yellow wine with fine, persistent perlage and aromas of white flowers, apple and pear. It is fresh and elegant on the palate with moderate alcoholic strength.
