2024 FIM SUPERSPORT 300 WORLD CHAMPION
Aldi Mahendra–Yamahamade history as Indonesia’s first-ever FIM Circuit Racing World Champion when he clinched the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship title at the final round of the series at Circuito de Jerez–Angel Nieto in Spain in October, showing skill, resilience and determination as the fierce fight with Dutch racer Loris Veneman–Kawasaki went down to the wire. A strong second overall at the series opener in Barcelona in March, Mahendra slipped to fifth in the points table at round two in the Netherlands the following month before bouncing back to second in June with the overall victory in Italy. Maintaining his second place in the championship in the Czech Republic, he then dropped a position in Portugal, but with three rounds remaining he headed to France at the start of September just eleven points behind Veneman and after recording two-three finishes moved into a twelve-point series lead–an advantage he extended to sixteen at the end of the month at Aragon in Spain. A fighting third in the first race at Jerez was not enough to seal the deal, but sixth in the final race of the year made sure of the title by twenty-one points
