2024 FIM JuniorGP World Champion
Heading into 2024 fully focussed on winning the FIM JuniorGP™ World Championship title, Spain’s Álvaro Carpe – Husqvarna achieved this ambitious goal, although he was forced to fight for it.
After claiming a solid sixth in the opening race of the season at Italy’s Motor Valley and Emilia-Romagna in April, he found himself almost immediately on the back foot after failing to finish race two and a ninth at round two in Estoril in Portugal did not greatly advance his cause.
However, just weeks before his seventeenth birthday he claimed his first race win of the campaign at the Circuit Barcelona-Catalunya in mid-May before taking a win and a third-placed finish at round four at the Autódromo Internacional Algarve in June.
A pair of thirds at round five at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto in Spain moved him another step closer to his goal and victory at round six at MotorLand Aragón in mid-October gave him a commanding forty-three-point lead heading into the final round at Estoril the following month.
A crash in the opening race in Portugal forced him to delay his celebrations until race two when sixth was good enough to earn him the crown by sixteen points.
