FIM Speedway Youth World Champion
The FIM Speedway Youth World Championship (SGP3) gives riders aged under sixteen on 250cc machines the opportunity to showcase their skills to fans around the world and is a major stepping stone for any one with serious long-term ambitions in the sport.
Following his 2022 victory in the FIM Track Racing Youth Gold Trophy, rapid redhead MaksymilianPawelczak was already forging a reputation as a potential superstar of the future and the young Polish rider further strengthened this with a dominant performance on home shale in Gorzow to claim the SGP3 crown.
After missing outon the title by a single point in 2023, Pawelczak rolled up behind the tapes at theEdward Jancarz Stadiumat the end of June focussed on the top step of the podium and the talented teenager did not disappoint the home fans hoping for a Polish winner for the first time since Oskar Paluch triumphed in 2021.
Thriving under the pressure, Pawelczak’s lightning-fast starts were key as he raced to victory in hisopening four Heats, but even then the championship was not guaranteed and the title was only decided in a thrilling final race which he won to complete his maximum and clinch the crown.
