2024 FIM WOMEN SNOWCROSS WORLD CHAMPION

Elevated from FIM World Cup status for the first time this season, it seems only fitting that the inaugural FIM Women’s Snowcross World Championship title should be won by the dominant rider from the 2023 season and that was Malene Cottew–Ski-Doo from Norway.

With two rounds to decide the first-ever FIM World Champion in the discipline, competitors initially converged in Joensuu in Finland in mid-April before travelling north to Kirkenes in Norway for thedeciding event six days later.

Aged thirty at the time, Cottew–who was twice second in the FIM World Cup before her victory last year–dominated at the opening round with a perfect score to leave her rivals in no doubt as to her intentions.

Back on home snow for the final round at the venue inside the Arctic Circle where she won the title last season with a perfect score, Cottew was again in total control and once again powered to another un blemished maximum points haul to underline her status as the number one female Snowcross racer on the planet.

The championship top three was completed by Swedes Jenny Lundström–Lynx and Wilma Jonsson–Lynx who finished on the podium at both rounds
