2021 FIM JUNIOR ENDURO WORLD CHAMPION
ANOTHER FEATHER IN HIS CAP!
Matteo Pavoni’s surname translates into English as ‘peacocks’, but the Italian talent demonstrated this season that he is as much ‘go’ as he is ‘show’ with a masterful performance in the hotly-contested Junior category.
The TM rider emerged from the opening round – the EnduroGP of Portugal – with a clear lead in the class ahead of his fellow Italian Lorenzo Macoritto (TM) following a second-placed finish and a win and he extended his advantage just one week later with a double win at his home round at Edolo.
Now firmly in the driving seat, the twenty-three-year-old traded wins and second-placed finishes with Macoritto at the EnduroGP of Estonia on the Baltic Island of Saaremaa and he could afford to follow compatriot home on both days in Sweden.
Another second-placed finish and a win at the second EnduroGP of Portugal set him up for the season finale in France. Over a fiercely contested weekend at Langeac, Pavoni put in a pair of podium performances with a third on day one that saw him take the title by fourteen points.
