2021 FIM Endurance World Champion
THE HUSTLE FROM BRUSSELS!
The youngest member of the Yoshimura SERT Motul team, Xavier Simeon is one of Belgium’s most prominent racers.
Coming from a nation perhaps more famous for its success in the World of motocross, Simeon is one of just a handful of Belgian riders to win a grand prix, and was the winner of the FIM Superstock 1000 World Championship in 2009.
He contested the Moto2 class for eight consecutive years – from 2010 to 2017 – and claimed his sole victory at the German GP in 2015 before a season in the MotoGP class that was followed by two years racing MotoE.
For 2021 he teamed up with Yoshimura SERT Motul alongside Gregg Black and Sylvain Guintoli and together the trio raced their way into the history books in the FIM Endurance World Championship.
Finishing on top of the podium at the season-opening 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans in mid-June, his title hopes took a dive at the 12 Hours of Estoril the following month with a twelfth-placed finish after he crashed at the seven-hour mark.
However, this was followed by a dominant win at the Bol d’Or at the Paul Ricard circuit at the end of August before the title was wrapped up in October at the 6 Hours of Most in the Czech Republic.
